Since 2006, the Byblos is a general representative of Lebanese wines, of the house “Kefraya”. Although this house was founded in 1950, it has succeeded to become one of three best known wine houses in Lebanon, and today it places its products in 35 countries in the world. It is interesting to mention that the Kefraya began its breakthrough during the war in Lebanon (1975-1990). The wines are sorted in four categories: “Vins de Plaisir”, “Vins de Fêtes”, “Vins de Prestige”, and “Vins de Charme”.
La Dame Blanche, 2007 – Dry white wine from the “Pleasure Wines” category, a blend of different grapevines, mainly Ugri Blanc, but also Clairette, Bourboulenc, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay.
Les Breteches, 2006 – Dry red wine, also from the “Pleasure Wines” category. It is a blend of seven grapevines: Cabernet sauvignon, Syrah, Cinsaut, Mourvèdre, Tempranillo, Carignan and Grenache. This wine by far exceeds the ‘table wine’ class, and it represents 60% of Kefraya’s annual production.
Chateau Kefraya, 2002 – All vintages of Chateau Kefraya are among the wines that can mature for 10-15 years, but can also be consumed immediately after appearing on market (after aging for 4 years). A prestigious wine of exquisite elegance and complexity, from the category of “Celebration Wines”. For the admirers of strong wine, a wine to remember, this is the right choice.
